Choose any title from our fabulous selection of RockED Musicals for your school’s A Musical In A Month program. (see  all musicals here)

All A Musical In A Month musicals are written by John Duff and adapted by him to be used in the RockED Music A Musical In A Month program for local elementary schools.

Most full musicals include 9+ songs, but for A Musical In A Month, the following adaptions are also available:

  • 6 SONG MUSICAL (approx. 60 minute duration)
  • or an 8 SONG MUSICAL (approx. 90 minute duration)

(Of course, longer musicals also available)

Each song included in  the A Musical In A Month school musicals represents a grade/group choreographed performance item.​

QUEST- A New Hero In Fantasyland

The Magic Mirror sends Brandon, the hair-gel hero, and Little Brandon on a Quest to save Fantasyland from the nasty crone – Orica. Their task is to collect colored objects from each Fairy Tale to form a rainbow. On their Quest they encounter many and varied Fairy Tale characters, including: Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Blind Mice and The Big Bad Wolf.

Quest is the most popular of RockED’s school musicals.

THE TIME MACHINE – A Journey Through Time

Adapted from H.G. Wells’ famous novel, this is the story of a group of time travellers, as they move backwards and forwards through time, largely due to the ineptitude of Randall. They accidentally collect an angry stowaway on the way, namely Ned Kelly. ln the future they realize the importance of looking after the planet for the generations to follow.

The Lonestar Cowboy – Yee Hah!

The hilarious ‘Wild West’ story of Chester Smith, the unassuming visitor to Dry Gulch County who is mistakenly appointed Sheriff. His first job is to beat Black Bart and his ‘Mean Machine’ – the bullies of the town. They have been disturbing the good county folk with their incessant teasing and bullying. The townsfolk, including Mary Lou and her two ‘bestest forever friends’, soon realize that Chester doesn’t stand a chance against the Bart Man. However everyone’s ‘amigo’ Don Pedro decides to take a stand – he will no longer be a ‘bystander’ and watch the bullying actions of the Mean Machine. With the help of an obliging cactus Don Pedro helps Chester to win the battle against the town’s bullies.

The Lonestar Cowboy is the perfect musical to showcase your students’ comedic talents, whilst simultaneously exploring the problem of school bullying and promoting anti-bullying strategies.

DREAMNATION – A Day at the Museum

Two earnest museum guards, Kelvin and Kerry-Lyn, are perplexed by the strange ‘goings-on’ during their shift. They encounter two indigenous girls hunting for their next meal, but longing for a takeaway lunch; the First Fleet arriving for a beach day on Australian shores; the prospectors arguing over a huge nugget and Ned Kelly and his gang struggling to get their act together. Everyone unites for the big finale of ‘Raise the Flag’ to mark Australia’s nationhood.

Young Lance Cruickshank dreams each night of the mystical world of Camelot. Now, assisted by the uber cool Dr Dream, ‘Sir Lancelot’ finds himself in the midst of King Arthur’s court, together with the other knights of the round table. After assisting Merlin’s efforts to obtain the sword Excalibur for King Arthur, Lance is then called upon to rescue Guinevere from the nasty Morgana and her crones. Lance’s hilarious adventures form a wonderful escape for all – to a world where, with a little knowledge and self belief, new heroes are born.
